We are so excited to start this website! It means a lot to us to be able to do this.
We are a small family homestead in Mississippi. None of us grew up on a farm or inherited a vast amount of homesteading knowledge from our family.
We do not have well groomed sprawling land or a large variety of resources. But we strive each day to work towards self sufficiency.
We are not preparing for WWIII, WROL or the any other version of the End of the World. We are having fun, bonding, learning and growing by using tried and true techniques, by embracing new ideas and by using technology when appropriate.
Sure, we want to be prepared should bad times come, of any size, but more importantly we enjoy the learning and satisfaction that comes with our activities.
Are you like us? Great! We would greatly appreciate your input and support. Would you please consider Subscribing to our YouTube Channel, Liking us on Facebook, Give us a +1 on G+ and Following us on Twitter?
It sure would mean a lot and helps us know that our efforts are appreciated.
Do you like what you see but can not find something specific? Ask! We would love the opportunity to provide a video that helps – after all, you can not be the only person with that question!
The best way to know what we are up to is to Subscribe to our Newsletter. We only send out an email if there is something new to share, and we never send more than 1 email per day.
Our homestead is alive and ever changing. We have fruit and nut trees, a garden, rabbits, ducks and goats. Not to mention the cats and dogs! All which you can read more about on our About Page.
We did not grow up here, but this is where we are now and we plan to make the most of it. We plan to find ways to work the the humidity and bugs, as well as to make the best of any variety of fruit and vegetable we can grow.
We grow organically without any pesticides or other chemicals. We save seed from the foods we harvest so we can grow them again to enhance the variety to our local growing conditions.
We do all of this no only for ourselves, but so we can teach. Teach our children, friends and anyone else who wishes to drop by.
Thank you for your time and welcome to the journey!
