Hey everybody, hope you’re doing well today. This little blog is informative about our YouTube channel specifically, so if you think you’re extremely well versed in YouTube already then maybe this isn’t for you, but we have a whole lot of new viewers over the last few months and I want to make sure that they’re up to speed as well.
Something that YouTube allows us video creators to do is categorize our videos into playlists. Many creators use these in different ways. I use it as a way to organize by a particular topic. So if I create a video and it fits into one of these topics that I’ve created a playlist on, then I will add the video to the playlist. Now if you join this channel for one reason or another, maybe you saw the rabbit video and you’re really interested in raising rabbits in your backyard and so you subscribe to the channel or you saw me saving seed and you’re really interested in being self-sufficient on your vegetables and so you join the channel, or maybe you saw me trying Back to Eden method gardening or you saw my Permaculture series. Whatever it is, I have a playlist out there that might be of interest to you where you can go back and see the very beginnings and keep watching the videos and see how things progressed and I think that’s important, not just because I appreciate your views and your support of our channel, but because then you can see the different steps that we took and the troubles that we ran into and the lessons that we learned.
I told you guys from the beginning that I started this channel because I wanted you guys to have to jump over less hurdles that we do, so when I run into a problem like not attaching the PTO properly to my tractor or problems with simple composting techniques, that you guys can see those struggles, be a part of them, learn from them, so that on your homestead you don’t have to fight and fuss as much and maybe you can get your homestead up and off the ground quicker than we did.
I’m going to list some of the different playlists and put links up here so that you can decide which ones you want to follow and head over and check them out.
You’re going to find playlists like:
Raising Pastured Pigs
Fermenting For Beginners
Raising Backyard Rabbits
Backyard Bee Keeping
The Geoff Lawton Online PDC
My Conference Talk at the Gaining Ground Sustainability Institute of Mississippi
Raising Backyard Chickens
Other Permaculture Videos
Keeping Ducks on a Small Hobby Farm
Back to Eden Gardening
Live Animal Traps
and Automatic Animal Watering
Now those aren’t all the playlists. I kinda picked out the ones I know that people have been mostly interested in, but you can go to the actual channel and then click on the tab for playlists and see if there’s another playlist that might interest you as well.
Well, I appreciate you guys putting up with this informative blog that really doesn’t have too much to do with the property but more to do with the YouTube channel. I appreciate the support that you guys give us. We’ve had a whole lot of subscriptions there lately and a whole lot of views. Here we are, spring just starting to ramp up and if things keep trending the way that they are, we’re gonna hit a new record for most amount of views in 30 days probably within the month of February. I really appreciate that support. It gives me the encouragement that I need to keep staying dedicated to the property, because I know you guys are sharing in it with me and that means a lot. Thank you all so much for joining us. We’ll see you next time.
